Bantayan Island is an island located in the Visayan Sea, Philippines. It is situated to the west of the northern end of Cebu Island.Bantayan is the main and largest island of the Bantayan island group that lies close to the geographical centre of the Philippine Islands archipelago, according to wikipedia.
I have been planning of going this Island for so many times but when I always landed the City of Cebu, it ended up heavy rains or worse there were typhoons coming. This is my third attempt, luckily there are no typhoons entering PAR so far.
Beach always excites me. I feel calm whenever I heard the sound of waves. I love salt water! I love beach!! :)
How to Get there:
Take a Bus going to Hagnaya at Cebu North Terminal near SM City Cebu. Fares for non-aircon bus is Php 132.00 and Php180.00 for Airconditioned Buses. Daily trips starts at 3:30AM(for non-aircon). Cebu to Hagnaya is a 3-3.5 hour drive.
We arrived at the port at 6;45AM since we left the city at 3;30AM. Good thing there's 7.00AM trip to Sta. Fe(Port of Bantayan Island) Ferry Fare -Php170.00/pax and Php10.00 other collection fee.
What's nice with this craft is that they leave exactly on their scheduled time of departure.
BANTAYAN ISLAND
Finally, after the sleepless night(which really I didn't sleep the whole coz I arrived Cebu it was 1:00AM. My flight was delayed for four hours. I left my bag at the Hotel for 2 hours. Hang out and grabbed some bottle of beers with Karen) crazy right? Haha but when we arrived. Ahh the beach is really waiting for me. If I was in the small boat, I'd probably jumped off and plunged the crystal clear salt water.
Sta. Fe Port
As we arrived the Island we took this Pedicab/Padyak for Php20.00 each going to the resort we booked.
Bantayan Island was actually hit by the super typhoon Yolanda almost a year ago. Most of the resorts here are not yet fully recovered due to huge of areas for reconstruction. Just like this beach resort we booked, the Sugar Beach Resort. sayang!
Room rates starts at Php700.00 for non-aircon. very affordable, the place is safe and huge. They offers fresh foods and every meal costs Php40.00 per cook. And if you want roam around the Island they have bicycle, scooters and motorbikes for rent. The best thing is grab the scooter, it is much easier to use for Php300.00 good for 24hours.

Our last night, we decided to had dinner at Blue Ice Restaurant. We met this American guy at Ogtong Cave. He was friendly, nice, has sense of humor and funny. We invited him over dinner since he's alone. He is a fresh married guy who works at the US Consulate Office in Us Embassy Manila. He's wife is working somewhere in Russia if I'm not mistaken. Okay, the thing is we're supposed to pay the dinner since we are the one who invited him but he took the chit and said "How about I will be one to pay for these" We refused but he insisted! Haha Thanks Again, Andi.
Hope you like it! :)
