(at the Sombrero Island)
Mt. Gulugod Baboy is located in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas (literally means Pig's spine). The starting and Jump off point for this trek is at PhilPan resort where you need to pay for 30.00 as registration fee and car park of 60.00.
Getting There:
The difficult part of the trek is actually from the start of the trail because of its very steep cemented road. Gulugod baboy takes less than 3 hours to climb. And the best thing is the arresting 360 views throughout the trail.
And if in case you ran out of hydration s, worry no more because there are refreshment stops along the road where climbers will never get thirsty, with locals are selling fresh buko juice, halo-halo and cold waters.
Gulugod Baboy is actually recommended for hikers who are planning for an overnight camping to maximize the experience and best deals for a day hike.
Bright green and beautiful grass of gulugod baboy.
Tiny waters began to fall & a bit foggy when we reached the top of gulugod Baboy.SOMBRERO ISLAND
After the trek we decided to take time for a side trip at Sombrero Island. A 20-25 minutes boat ride from the mainland of Batangas. Boat rentals are at 2,500.00, a 150.00 entrance fee at the Island and additional 30.00 fee for the shower.
After scaling the mountain of Gulugod baboy, a dip on the beach of Sombrero Island is the perfect state of relaxation.
And it seemed we owned the entire Island while enjoying plunging the majestic crystal blue waters of Sombrero.
