BACOLOD l SAN CARLOS, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL


It is the capital of the province of Negros Occidental. It is the most populous city in the western visayas and the 17th most populous city in the Philippines. It is part of the Bacolod Metropolitan Area which also includes the cities of Silay & Talisay. It is notable for its Masskara Fetival held during the 3rd week of October. Known for being a relatively friendly city, it bears the nickname City of Smiles, In 2008, Bacolod ranked number 1 in a survey by Money  Sense Magazine as the “best Place to Live in the Philippines’. The city has also been declared by the Department of Science and Technology as a center of Excellence for information technology and business process management operations. (source:wikipedia)

GETTING THERE:

Take promo fares flight from Manila, Davao, Cebu bound for Bacolod. This time I can't give you the exact details for fares from the airport since we have own transport to roam around the City. But you can ask for an assistance at the information booth , get some guide maps and it'll help if you are new to the Province.

LA VISTA HIGHLAND RESORT

La Vista resort is located along the highway of Prosperidad, San Carlos City an hour or two hours ply from the City of Bacolod. They have plenty of  rooms available for those who wants to stay for an overnight, mini bar, swimming pools and a 1,500 meters zip line. An entrance fee of 100.00 for sight seeing and additional 300.00 if you want to try the zip line. 


 This stunt is actually not allowed according to the staff but I really tried doing it when I was in the middle of the rope. Thanks to Rio for capturing this awesome photo.


SAN CARLOS CITY PROPER

San Carlos City is the second class component city in the province of Negros Occidental. The City has two pronounces seasons, wet and dry. The rainy season is from May to January with heavy rains occurring during the months of August and September. Dry season lasts from February to April. December and January are the coldest months while April is the hottest. (source:Wikipedia)

It was lunch time when we arrived at San Carlos City. a 2-3 hours drive from the City of Bacolod.

MAMBUKAL

Mambukal Resort lies 1,200 feet above sea level and serves as a gateway to Mt. Kanlaon Natural Park. Spread over 23.6 hectares, Mambukal is blessed with exceptionally beautiful natural features.
